Okay, I think I'm improving. At least I seem to be headed in the direction that I want. Who cares whether it meets anyone else's criteria. I love to draw with pen and ink and my goal in learning watercolor is to splash some color into my ink drawings a la Danny Gregory. So there you go and there I am...critique welcome!

Wow! Beautiful watercolour! Very lively colours and I like the combination of marker+WCs. I also like the other portraits and the colours you used. Very nice works.
Your use of color is envious! Simply wonderful. marta
Lovely lively colours. I find the more I struggle with watercolors the stiffer and deader everything gets. Then I relax in the way you have done, and suddenly find life in my painting. But I still have to go back to struggling ... and then suddenly you find that you've actually made a step forward after all, when you weren't even paying attention.
I love this! It is really alive with color.
Nice work.

Wow, this is really nice! The colors are awesome. Nicely done!
Now Kay - this has character and I love how alive the colours are. Super. Also...thanks for pointing me in the direction of Wrick's comments - very helpful! Like you, I like the illustrative style and am interested in using the watercolour to enhance drawings and such - hopefully some kind of individual style will emerge out of that!
WONDERFUL WONDERFUL JOB!!!
it looks fabulous! you've done a great job. I love pen & wash too.
OH how I love this! The colors are fabulous and the subject intriguing. Do keep up the great work!
Lovely fresh colours - the struggle is worth it.
I really like the ink/watercolor combo. This style suits you. More please!

I think it's a fine sketch and I loved looking at all the beautiful colors you've involved in the portrait.
